This camera takes as good of quality photos as the 7d at half the cost. The only thing that takes getting used to is the controls, mainly the locking selector dial. Unless you make a living taking super fast action sports photos, this camera will do you great. Even at 5.3 fps you can capture great shots as they happen.

If you're looking for an APS-C this is it. Price, features, screen, weight, video can't be beat at this price.

I had a Rebel XT for 5 years, and I don't miss it! The picture quality is amazing, the video features are great, I just love this camera! Wish I'd had it 6 months earlier for my 46 day road trip to Alaska...

The camera feels good in hand. The most used camera settings are easily accessable and easy to change. The articulating lcd is a great feature and constructed well. It's nice to be able to tuck the screen in for protection. It's a camera that's easy to get comfortable with and one that I feel will be with me a long time. I really love this camera.

I bought the T2i earlier in the year and wrote a review on another website saying all it needed to be perfect was a flip-out screen. How clairvoyant of me. Well, about 3 months after buying the T2i, Canon released this camera with the desired flip-out screen....and I finally justified the up-grade since I do a lot of video with this. I may sell the T2i or may start a little video/photo business in which I'll need both cameras. The only complaint is that in video mode the camera will not self-adjust the focus on a subject that moves in and out. Other than that, this is a great camera especially when teamed with PS CS5.

Have had the Rebel line of cameras in the past, but the 60D is a big step up from this level of camera.
The camera is well documented on internet and once you get to use it ,let your instinct guide you, it responds quickly and smartly.
Be advise, you will need some form of support to take incredibly clear pictures both at range and in Macro mode.

This camera is a very good buy. Has a lot more to offer than the lower priced rebels. Almost all the qualites of the 7D but, MUCH more user friendly. We take pics of grandkids and nature and love it.

After several years with a Canon XT, the 60D is a sustancial upgrade. The improvement in quality is noticeable. Pictures have much less noise under similar circumstances. The Resolution on the LCD screen is superb. I like the fact that it has different resolutions for RAW images. It has most of the features of the 7D, but $500 less.

The big question is: do you get the 60D, the 7D or the 550D / T2i ?? This decision has become infinitely more difficult as all three of these cameras now share so many specifications and features. And because they also share an image sensor that is very similar, and all with 18 megapixels, the image quality and ISO performance of these three cameras will be nearly identical.
