The D3100 is equipped with a new Nikon DX-format CMOS image sensor and a new image-processing engine, EXPEED 2, both developed by Nikon. I really like this camera i use it for landscapes mostly . I have owned camera's from the 60's 70's and 80's 35mm some without any auto focus. Since I have owned the Nikon D3100 I have taken about 150 pics so far everyone was clear.I am 54 years old been taking pics. my whole life this is the best camera I ever had. [...]

I haven't had a lot of time to spend with the camera but so far it is exceeding my expectations. Autofocus is quick and accurate. The manual lacks a lot of info but I bought a book on the camera and it explains it very well. It is comfortable to use, even with my large hands unlike a lot of the point and shoots that are to small for me. For the money there is nothing that I have found that will come close!

this was a gift for my husband and he absolutely love it. there are many features which he love which i dont seem to understand but the proof are in the pictures which he took with this camera. they are quite beautiful.the only thing is the battery life of the camera . i am glad that i have purchased him a spare battery.

I simply wanted a new hobby AND get great images that I could share and enjoy. Instead I have inspired others, created a family of "take my picture" nuts and found we're doing more stuff together so we can take pictures! Some shots are ordinary though exceptionally clear and crisp while others have people double-taking over their depth and beauty. I have pro-photographers as friends and family and they're impressed with my zero training and ability to capture moments like a pro. So far the shots have been indoor shots of the kids and shots outdoors and at the park. The continuous shooting mode is great for trying to sneak in the perfect candid shot of kids who don't wish to sit still or are avoiding a shot in the first place. The in-camera editing is a wonderful tool as well. The only downside I've experienced in the entire process of ordering and using the camera was one small piece being missing (seems like a factory packing mistake based on the factory supplied parts list) [...] I did a lot of research on which camera to purchase AND where. I settled on Abe's because of the amazing deal that I've yet to see replicated elsewhere. Bottom 'line': If you want a great camera and are new to the DSLRs/photography, the D3100 is a great way to start a new passion or feed one buried deep within. I totally recommend a bundle/kit so you get accessories you might otherwise forget or not realize how necessary they truly are. (Like a cleaning kit or extra battery.)

I DO A LOT OF FOREIGN & DOMESTIC TRAVEL AND ATTEND MANY DIFFERENT TYPES OF CULTURAL EVENTS, WHERE I TAKE SEVERAL HUNDRED TO SEVERAL THOUSAND PICTURES EACH. THE AUTO FOCUS AND VR FEATURES IN THIS CAMERA ARE AMAZING!!! ESPECIALLY LOVE THE LOW-LIGHT & CLOSE-UP CAPABILITIES.

Love the camera, although auto focus bring an issue, need to press a button to make it focus everytime, my D40 use to do this automatic, when I click, with I need to make it focus with a button and click to take a pic.

more than happy with the camera and both the lens(18-55 and 55-200) , the Vibration Reduction(VR) in both the lens work great and is a great add on. the pictures were crisp and really nice ; camera performance in low light was also good.cant wait to go out and take some pictures this summer '':). i would recommend this product very much.

The great thing about this bundle is the price. Check out the camera body price and how lenses sell for and it's easy to see it's a good deal. You also get that extra 55-200 lens which is good if you want to do more than point-and-shoot, inside the house stuff. The 3100 is awesome because they essentially took the 3000 model and added the good stuff of the 5000 model to create the 3100. So it has a better sensor than the 3000 and has full 1080p video (The 5000 doesn't event have that). I am thrilled by the pictures taken so far and i am not even done going through the Nikon digital photo school booklet and the 2 dvd's that come with it. When i get better at using the manual settings, the pictures can only get better, Can't wait

I love the ease of use and the size, fits nicely in your hands.Pictures very clear.Camera can do many things but manual not very good.If you want to get real proficient with camera buy Nikon D3100 for dummies. I found this book very valuable for understanding how to use cameras features.CD with camera is for a Nikon D5000 not that useful

I am not a professional photographer but I am an enthusiast. Before buying this camera, I did a lot of research. It boiled down to 2 cameras; Nikon D3100 and Canon T2i. While I like the video from Canon, Nikon did a whole lot better with pictures. My main purpose with this camera is to take pictures and not video. The color that comes out of this NIkon is way lot better than Canon's.
