If this is your first camcorder then this should get your started. There are of course many more advanced camcorders that cost 2 or 3 times as much but I will keep this Sony DCR-SR68 for my home.

Use this for football, baseball and soccer games. Couldn't get any easier to use. Just plug it in and press play. Downloading to the computer was a breeze. WOULD HIGHLY RECOMMEND! Records sound VERY well....a little to well! HA! It is a great price too.

So far we like it, dont like the picture quality on the still pictures but love the video quality! Not sure why if the video quality is so nice why the still pictures are not but we already have a nice camera so i guess it works out. The price was nice also!

I picked this up just before Christmas for a holiday trip to Jamaica,I was planning on a JVC, but so close to the holiday, selections were getting sparse. I finally settled on the Sony, I've had great experience w/ Sony Mini-Systems, all the way back to 1985 when I got a Sony FH10W while serving in Cyprus with the U.N.<br />I wish I had the same experience with their other electronics,,Like this "HandyCam". I had to carry along my DSLR and this thing all over the Island, If the Sony could of taken half decent photos, I could have left the camera at home,,anyways, If you want something that'll do both jobs in one,,Keep Looking,,Great Video, but very poor still's,,other functions and features are ok,but are expected for something in this price range, and Brand name. My little Mustek DV5300SE takes better pctures,,,,and come to think of it,,Better video. Cheer's, Andy.

Used at home for movies of Grand & Greatgrand children.<br />Very easy to use - not to complicated to convert to DVD's<br />Picture quality not so good. Pictures are fuzzy and not sharp.

The camcorder is very easy to learn to use, although finding some settings in the menus can be a little challenging at first. The video image quality is alright, but not great. The focus is 'soft' at best. Forget still shots...even in good light there is too much noise in the picture. The camcorder is a good size and easy to hold and operate. If you need a camcorder that is easy to use and you don't need pro-quality results, this is a decent unit.

I purchased this camcorder for my husband for Christmas, and was I disappointed! The Sony Handycam SR68 takes very poor quality video. The images were very grainy, although we played with the options to maximize quality. Also, the still images (photos) we took with this camcorder were awful. I returned it two days after Christmas & will go back to researching reviews before deciding upon a replacement.

We gave this to our 15 year old grandson for his birthday. He loves it and it is very user friendly for someone his age. Would recommend even for adults.

It is handy and easy to use. I used it to capture my two month old daughter's progress. I like its feature which has build in 80GB so I don't have to worry about running out of memory. All I can say it is a great product for its price

received camera in good condition. small size make it easy to have on hand at all times. 80gb hard drive gives a lot of flexibility. Camera action is nice. i was able to take several pictures in a row quickly. have not yet had a chance to download to computer or burn a disc but looking forward to working with it.

Our old camcorder is a Sony so we were looking forward to a nice purchase. After all, our old one still works and has over a decade on it - a Hi-8 digital camera. This new one has poor quality shots where faces are shady, a very short battery life, and the annoying traits that whenever you pause between pictures you start a new file. Top that with the fact that 2 files are produced (audio/video) rather than straight mpeg videos and you have to use their crummy program to view them.

Use at kids sports events and at home. Software included makes it quick and easy to copy to a disk. Love the large hard drive space, can keeps videos on hard drive and not worry about filling up. Must purchase additional battery. Battery that comes with it only lasts 30-45 minutes.
